Zhong Shu No.6
Temporary borrowed description — 80 days, indet., regular leaf, excellent yield of superb tasting, 8-16 oz red globe fruit. // United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), PI 586668. Donated to USDA in 1988 from China. // I received this tomato from the USDA through the Farmer's Cooperative Germplasm Project. USDA got it on a trip to China. According to a Chinese friend, the name means "Chinese Vegetable Company" with No 6 being the 6th tomato variety USDA got on that trip. This is a great tomato -- it looks like people think a tomato should look and the flavor is fantastic. It is resistant to blossom end rot. While a late tomato, it bears until frost and seems to do well no matter what is thrown at it. Grow it and you won't regret it! // Standard small, red, spherical fruits with a bold, balanced flavor. Fair production. From China via USDA.
