Really bizarre tomato variety. Most fruits are in the 1.5 lb. range, with 3.754 documented in 2014 (main photo here). Fruits have red flesh and clear skin with very good, balanced, old-fashioned heirloom flavor. But several traits make this variety stand out: 1) unusual, often enormous megablooms, with 14+ fused blossoms documented (see photos); 2) fused blossoms result in multiple lobes that are often distinctly pointed or quite odd-shaped; 3) regular leaf vines are extraordinarily aggressive, fast-growing and thick-stemmed; 4) with pruning, extra suckers grow out aggressively, not only from the ends of flower trusses, but also even from veins of leaves - these suckers from leaves have been documented to flower and produce fruit! Big and Bizarre! Developed since 2009 by Dale Thurber for Delectation of Tomatoes, selecting from Michael's Portuguese Monster specimens and plants showing progression of these unusual traits. Parent was a 2.610 specimen from 2013, offspring of which produced two plants exhibiting these traits. Your seeds will be descendants of this 3.754 specimen, which was the Utah State record largest tomato for several weeks.
