TOMATO LOVERS Gift Pack
Fourteen wonderful varieties from around the world, guaranteed to bring anticipation and eventual culinary delights to any avid tomato gardener. Significant discount over purchasing individual packets, and more importantly, a huge time saver and distress reducer vs. wading through hundreds and hundreds of descriptions.
Please note: This is intended as a way for you to add a number of new varieties as a surprise, based upon what I have pre-packaged in quantity. If you would like to custom order and select your own varieties, please order packets individually. With so many varieties, I can manage to pre-package relatively few of them.
TOMATOES – Oh so DELECTABLE!
Makes for the perfect Christmas or birthday present for any of your friends of family members who grow tomatoes (or for yourself - I won’t tell :-) ).
With over 2,600 varieties to select from (and that’s just in the inventory of Delectation of Tomatoes), how, where do you even start the selection process? Not everyone has the time or patience to wade through so much information (much of it not even published on this website, yet...)!
Fourteen tomato varieties, carefully selected from these categories:
GIANT — BIG is beautiful and many of these varieties are also very
tasty (those jealous, sniveling naysayers can just eat their words);
selected among varieties documented to grow to at least three pounds!
Super productive — Pasta sauce, tomato juice, stew base -
sometimes you just want a tomato vine that produces loads
and loads of tomatoes for those dozens of favorite recipes.
Bicolor — Among the most gorgeous as well as sweetest varieties
available — you can scarcely get enough of these beauties!
Salsa — Low on juice, still big on flavor and versatility.
Orange — Eye candy as well as delicious and so versatile; ever
tried orange tomato juice?
Heart — So many to choose from - striking, beautiful, and many
of them so very tasty!
Dark — There are no "black" tomatoes, but there are so many
fabulous, rich-tasting varieties that are deep brown, burnt
umber, dark sienna or other dark pigmented varieties -
how to choose, how to choose?
Tiny tomatoes — Or call them "cherry" tomatoes if you prefer --
lots of varieties that are so very sweet or intensely
flavored; ya just gotta have one of these for snacking in
the garden or making salads wonderful!
Pale — Yellow or whitish pigments, plenty of attractive varieties
in this class with wonderful flavor as well as high production.
Super early — Time tested from Siberia or other cold climates,
and definitely much tastier and earlier than the
unjustifiably popular Early Girl.
Unusual color — Color combinations that most of us would never
have imagined, but visionary and dedicated tomato
breeders have made available for us to appreciate and
enjoy!
GWR — Green When Ripe, there are a number of novel and
fabulous tasting varieties in this category, making variety
selection a real challenge for the uninitiated.
Novelty — Fuzzy or carrot leaf foliage; unexpected color
combinations; surprising but delicious flavor; maybe a
stuffing or drying or dwarf variety — for the
adventurous spirit in each every tomato lover!
Surprise — For the adventurous
