Large fruits (2.388 lb. specimen in photo) are red with clear skin; most are under 1 lb., larger fruits are lobed.
Very good, balanced, somewhat mild flavor. Regular leaf, vigorous indeterminate vines. Seeds trace to Michael Johnson of Nottingham, England, who grew it to “just about 3lb”. He in turn grew from seeds of the “Alabama
state champion tomato 4lb plus”. Perhaps Michael renamed this variety in honor of that giant specimen? This is very likely Domingo andis not at all like Alabama Belle listed in catalogs 100+ years ago.
